Welcome to the weekly Saturday Quick Hits and Weekend Reading post – Thanksgiving edition!
Quick Hits
-
Just wanted to give another reminder that the site is hosting it’s first ever giveaway which started last Wednesday. The grand prize is an iPad mini and $50 cash for a case. Four other entrants will get $25 each. Less than eleven days until it ends, so be sure you get your name in the hat.

Anyone else pumped for Thanksgiving next week? It’s one of my favorite holidays, and added bonus I have the entire week off of work next week! Unfortunately I got sick a couple days ago – hoping it passes since I have a ton of stuff planned for my time off.
-
Ladders are expensive! I got what I think is a relatively cheap oneand still paid over $150 for it. Actually, now that I think about it that’s not a terrible price for what I got, but all the expenses related to buying our first home are really starting to add up!
-
Anyone going black Friday shopping? I plan on looking at what Amazon.comhas to offer, but what I really am hoping for is that some store has a doorbuster deal on luggage. We are going on a cruise in February and my wife definitely needs luggage as hers got destroyed on our Hawaii trip a couple years ago and I have pretty much the cheapest (both price and material) luggage you could find.

Thank you for the mention.
Yes, ladders are expensive. My father in-law bought one of those all in one ladders for 250. The only problem with it is that it weighs a ton and he needs me to come over every time that he uses the thing.
And I can’t wait for Thanksgiving. Turkey is one of my favorite foods.
Have a great weekend and i hope you feel better.
DC @ Young Adult Money says
@JustinatTheFrugalPath Yikes you have to come over for him to even use it?? That sounds terrible.
Thanks, no sore throat when I woke up so that’s a start!

Thanks so much for the mention DC. Ladders are expensive, in fact I find that many things for the house are…but maybe I am showing my cheapness. :) Have a great weekend!
DC @ Young Adult Money says
@FrugalRules Haha all the expenses add up. Especially since this is our first house, we’ve had to spend money on things like ladders that we didn’t have before becoming home owners.
