Someone this weekend will become a millionaire this weekend. It could be you.
It doesn’t stop there, though – someone will become a millionaire this weekend for free.
No, I’m not talking about the lottery, nor am I talking about a ponzi scheme.
I’m talking about Daily Fantasy Sports.
This weekend is the first weekend of the NFL season. EDIT: This offer has been extended through week 2 of the NFL season! If you haven’t heard about Daily Fantasy Sports (or DFS as it’s often called), you may be in luck – you are eligible for a free $20 ticket to DraftKing’s $10 million fantasy football contest that starts Sunday at noon central time.
This offer is only for new players and requires no money to be spent. Simply sign up using this link and deposit at least $5 and you will be given a free $20 entry into the week 1 NFL Millionaire Maker.
The winner of the contest will get a guaranteed $2 million. Second place gets $1 million. Yes, even if you come in second you will win $1 million. Heck, even if you come in 125,000th place you will get $25 (which is a free $25 since you didn’t pay to play in the first place).
The payout amounts are all guaranteed regardless of how many entries there are. This is common for DraftKings and there were numerous weeks last year where there was more money in the prize pool than there were entries in the contest.
If you have never played Daily Fantasy Sports, this is your chance to give it a try and potentially win over a million dollars.
The first step is to sign up using this link you must use this link to get the free entry!.
Next I will walk you through the basics of setting a lineup. Finally I will share a bit about how I got exposed to DraftKings and started playing (I already have 4 lineups in the Millionaire Maker this weekend…).
Setting a Fantasy Football Lineup on DraftKings
Once you are signed up and have deposited at least $5, you should receive your free $20 entry into the NFL Millionaire Maker.
Go to the lobby and select the NFL tab:
Once on the NFL tab, select the $20 NFL $10M Millionaire Maker [$2M to 1st], the first contest in the below snapshot:
Select DRAFT TEAM:
Basically drafting a team works like this. Every week players are given a “salary.” You need to fill an entire roster while staying under the $50,000 salary cap.
Here’s all the positions that need to be filled:
And here’s some sample salaries:
That’s all there is to it! If you already follow the NFL or even play in a season-long fantasy football league, you likely already have an idea of what players will do well. Even if you don’t, there’s no harm in putting together a random lineup – remember: it’s free!
How I Got Started in Daily Fantasy Sports
If you read my post where I talked about 10 Ways I’ve Made Side Income, you know I used to play poker as a side hustle. It worked out really well, but poker has dried up for the most part and the average player is much more talented than in years past.
Daily Fantasy Sports is relatively new and is legal in almost every State. I have a lot of friends who played poker (much) more seriously than I did and made a lot of money in it. Most have started to play Daily Fantasy Sports.
There is a lot of strategy involved if you take it seriously, but it’s 100% true that “anyone can win.” You never know what player will rack up the points, and sometimes it’s the most unexpected player. Very few people – and probably very few who take DFS seriously – had Jonas Gray in their lineup last year when he scored 4 touchdowns in one game.
The bottom line is this: you can make money over time if you take DFS seriously, but virtually anyone can win any given week. If you can play for free, why not throw a lineup into the mix??

Interesting. I have been seeing DraftKings advertised a lot lately, but never really knew exactly what it was about or how it worked.

PFUtopia It’s interesting how much advertising there is yet still SO many people who haven’t tried it out. It’s pretty incredible how much you can win for a small buy-in (or no buy-in, in this case).

All the best with this DC! Who’s your team anyway? & has there been much of a buzz around the Aussie bloke Jaryd Hayne making the cut for the 49’ers?
Cheers & hope all is well for you buddy :)

It’s great to have the fair ability to win in a competitive advantage. If you want the mind of a millionaire so you can keep your money and not end up broke like most people who suddenly become rich it makes sense for you to click my link – http://bit.ly/1FyUhUo
