This is a shot by Richie Diesterheft of Lake Calhoun in Minneapolis during the Summer. As I write this we are about to get 5-8 inches of snow dumped on us. In the middle of April. Whatever happened to Spring?!?

Happy Friday everyone!
Did anyone catch the NCAA Championship game on Monday night? It was one of the best basketball games I’ve ever watched. Kudos to Michigan and Louisville for leaving it all on the court, simply incredible effort by both teams. I personally was cheering for Michigan but I was fine with either team winning.
On the blog front I have definitely been busy. I have some great post ideas for the next couple of weeks (including part two of websites that help you save money) and had a lot of fun putting together the posts for this week. In particular I am proud of Monday’s post 5 Major Components of Health Care Reform and What They Mean for You. As someone who works in the health care field I am exposed to the effects of the health care reform law on a daily basis. While I can’t exactly say I’m surprised that most people I talk to know very little about the law or even the major components of it, it does make me want to share my knowledge with others. The industry will undergo (and already has undergone) a big change over the next couple years. It’s important that people understand the law and how it will affect them.
Another quick point about blogging. When I was writing my 5 Ways to Make Your Side Hustle More Legit post I felt more strongly than ever that having online income is the ideal side hustle. There are endless options for side income, but if you have to do it in addition to your 9-5 full-time job, doing something online that you can slowly improve over time and spend as little or as much time as you want is the ideal “side hustle.” I do other things for side income, such as renting and spreadsheet consulting, but I enjoy owning this blog more than any other side income source.
Anyone have big plans for this weekend? I’m headed to the Twins game on Sunday. Despite having the outdoor ballpark for a few years now, I have yet to experience a game in cold weather. Looks like Sunday will be my first time as it’s expected to be rainy and in the mid 40s. Luckily Target Field has huge heated concourses to hide from bad weather. Nevertheless…I just want summer already!

Looking forward to the posts DC! We were supposed to get 3-5 inches of snow and thankfully we just got a dusting. Only Monday was it 75…crazy weather. My plan for this weekend…sleep, it’s been a CRAZY busy week. Have a great weekend!
DC @ Young Adult Money says
@FrugalRules Yeah it definitely hit us pretty hard yesterday, though it only doubled my commute (it could have been worse and has been worse this winter). I hope you find some time to relax! I have a lot of writing I want to get done since I’m busy Monday and Tuesday night.

I am going for some big wins this time around DC. Thanks for putting this together. I loved the championship game. Well played by both teams. I plan on getting better after my sickness this week that I caught from my son’s daycare. I hope you have a good one.
DC @ Young Adult Money says
@DebtRoundUp haha best of luck ;) It’s really a numbers game. I try to get at least one entry in as many as possible.
SenseofCents says
So many awesome giveaways! I need to dedicate some time to entering all of these.
DC @ Young Adult Money says
@SenseofCents As do I! My wife is entered in all of them before we post it (since she compiles the lsit), but I’m always playing catchup.

I was offered some Twins tickets at work for this weekend but wasn’t sure I wanted to sit out in the 40 degree temps and rain. You’re a stronger man than I am!
DC @ Young Adult Money says
@moneymatters haha well I figure there won’t be TOO many people there and the concourses are heated so we may just hang out there if we can’t handle the weather ;)

DC I really liked your post about making your hustle more legit and need to work on a few of those myself. In fact, it inspired a post that might be needed.
Enjoy the Twins game. Tigers will have to get them back at home in May.
DC @ Young Adult Money says
@JustinatTheFrugalPath Thanks for the kind words and I’m looking forward to your post!
Haha we’ll see how it goes in May ;) I’m not optimistic about this season for the Twins, but I suppose you never know when a team will surprise you.
