Budget Tool: Tiller
There are many different ways to budget. Ultimately it comes down to personal preference, but when Tiller came on the market a couple years ago we knew it was something special.
Tiller helps you budget by taking all your income and expense data and putting it in a uniform format so that you can easily use it in a budget spreadsheet.
It sounds simple, but I personally did this process manually for over four years prior to Tiller coming out, and it’s saved me nearly an hour a month.
Tiller is based in Google Sheets and has a variety of pre-made budget templates you can use. You can check out Tiller here.
I prefer Excel, so I created a free budget spreadsheet you can download. The spreadsheet uses Tiller to make it a truly “automated” budget spreadsheet.
Net Worth: Personal Capital
Personal Capital is a free tool that links to just about every bank, credit card, investing, and other financial account. Each time you log in it will provide a complete up-to-date view of your net worth.
Easy, automated, and free. What more can you ask for?
