After a week of zero-degree weather, this beach in Hawaii looks amazing!
Welcome to the Weekly Quick Hits Roundup!
If you’re new here, every week I write a weekly wrap-up of things that were going on here at Young Adult Money, a few personal updates/thoughts, and finally a few posts I read this week that I thought were worth sharing.
If you don’t already, please considering Following us on Twitter, Liking us on Facebook, and Following us on Pinterest.
We also have our giveaway roundup every Friday. This Friday there are 92 giveaways listed this week that end today (1/3) through next Thursday (1/9).

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you had a great Holiday season and were able to find some time to relax and spend time with friends and family.
Just a couple updates this week:
Blogging – I had some time off in December so I’m a (little) ahead on the blog, which is nice. I would love to have 20+ posts ready to be published, but I’m not quite THAT far ahead.
I know some bloggers and writers take time off during the Holidays, so I wanted to share (again) the 2014 Editorial Calendar for Bloggers that I created. I know quite a few bloggers who have downloaded it and are taking advantage of it already, so please check it out if you do not have an editorial calendar or are looking for a new one.
Exercise – This year I’m going to stick with the same goal I had last year: work out three times a week.
Below are the posts we published this week:
My writers were both off this week so all these posts were written by me.
- On Monday I talked about our 20+ year-old cat in Our Cat Just Got Expensive.
- On Tuesday I talked about My Goals for 2014.
- On Wednesday I talked about my goals for Young Adult Money in Happy New Year! Looking Ahead to 2014.
- On Thursday I wrote a post for all the homeowners or soon-to-be homeowners in 5 Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Goals for Homeowners in the New Year.
Posts of the Week:
No posts this week. Took New Year’s Day off and busy with work, but NEXT week I should be back at it.

BudgetforMoreHave fun – how could I forget that! I would also like to grow in my career. I’ve learned so much the past year but there’s so much more to still learn.

Glad to hear that you were able to get somewhat ahead on the blog. I was able to get some time off unexpectedly over the Holidays, which was nice. For 2014, I’ll not share it all now as I have a post going up in a week about it, but for us it’s continuing to grow the business. We had an awesome end to the year and excited to see where it goes in 2014. Have a great weekend DC!

FrugalRulesI’m glad you got some time off, John. It’s surprisingly hard to pull yourself away from a small business during the holidays, so it’s great to hear. While you don’t share many details about your business, it does seem like Frugal Rules is really growing and doing well. Also, congrats on the K-State win, unfortunately for me the Gophers lost their bowl game in the last two minutes.

Your goal-list is the shortest I’ve seen! I hope you achieve it to your satisfaction!
Happy new year!
DC @ Young Adult Money says
moneyconeHaha they are very broad goals. I could have broken them down into specific sub-goals, but I don’t think readers care for all that detail ;) Happy New Year to you too!

The cold and snow is really messing up my exercise goals. No motivation.
DC @ Young Adult Money says
brokeandbeau Oh trust me, if I didn’t have a gym membership there is NO way I would be working out.

Great calendar, guys. I love it, very helpful.
I’m looking forward to warmer weather (was -14 F in PA last night) and keeping my new blog rolling, which I just started last month.
