Want free hotel rooms when you go to Las Vegas? Today I have a travel hack that will give you up to 3 free Las Vegas hotel rooms a month.
My wife’s aunt and uncle recently came back from a trip to Vegas. While I love hearing about people’s trips in general, one thing really stood out to me about their recent Las Vegas vacation: they didn’t pay a dime for their hotel rooms.
Beyond that they also got two free tickets to a show as well as a free buffet pass.
My wife and I are really into freebies and giveaways, so I was immediately intrigued as to how they did it. What I found out was a bit shocking: it was all through a Facebook app!
Before I continue I should say I was NOT compensated for this post – I just think it’s a really great way to lower the costs for a Vegas vacation.
How it works
The app they use is called myVEGAS Slots. Essentially you play slots and table games with chips and you gain reward points. The reward points can be redeemed for various real-life rewards, such as hotels, show tickets, and restaurants. More details on that later in the post.
The longer you play, the easier it becomes to get chips to redeem these reward points. For example your daily reward gets multiplied depending on how many days in a row you check into the app.
Participating Casinos
There are quite a few casinos that offer hotel rooms, shows, and other rewards through myVEGAS slots. They include:
- Bellagio
- Aria
- MGM Grand
- Mandalay Bay
- Mirage
- Monte Carlo
- New York New York
- Luxor
- Excalibur
- Circus Circus
What’s great about the variety of hotels is that it allows for more or less expensive hotel rooms. That means you could spend as little as 12,500 reward points for a midweek room at Circus Circus or as much as 215,000 reward points for a weekend room at Aria.
Hotel Rooms
Below are just a few of the hotel room offers that you can redeem on myVEGAS slots:
My biggest problem? Deciding which hotel to stay at because there really is quite a few options.
Restaurants
Here are some of the restaurant offers that you can redeem on myVEGAS slots:
These seem to vary quite a bit in price and offerings.
Shows
Finally here are some of the shows that you can see through myVEGAS slots redemption:
I’m sure the shows they offer change from time-to-time. I was just bummed there was no Britney Spears show tickets (kidding! sort of.)
How to get chips and in turn, rewards
While you can purchase chips using real money, you don’t have to. There is also affiliate-type offers that can give you chips. You don’t have to do any of this, though, nor would I recommend putting real money into this game (or you aren’t really getting FREE comps).
Instead of purchasing you can simply collect chips from hotels you ‘build’, your daily bonus, and from other friends who use the app.
A Few Thoughts
Now that I’ve been using myVEGAS Slots for a few weeks I have a few thoughts on best strategy, time commitment, etc.
- Best Strategy for Redemption – The best strategy for redeeming comps through myVEGAS Slots is to have other people you are travelling with also use the app and redeem comps through it. You can only use three rewards within a month time-frame, so if you travel with someone else you technically have six rewards to spend on your trip. This means you could get three free hotel rooms, two free meals, and a free show – or any combination of rewards.
- Time Commitment – The sooner you start the easier it becomes to gain chips and, in turn, reward points. It’s best used as a long-term strategy. Plus, who goes to Vegas more than twice a year anyway?
If you’re worried about a Facebook app sapping all your time, you really only have to log in once a day to collect your chips and use them on the slots. As you level up you unlock “auto spins” ranging from 10 initially all the way up to 100. That means you can log in, collect your chips, and turn on auto-spin. No need to keep clicking. Minimal time commitment, maximum rewards – that’s the way I like it.
I think myVEGAS Slots is a great way to get free hotels and other rewards if you are headed to Vegas anytime in the future. While I have only played for a few weeks now, I can already see how I’d have a hard time paying for hotels, buffets, etc. when I know I can get them for free through slowly gaining comps.
Have you ever gotten something free through a game or reward program?

Haha! This is fantastic. Maybe now I can get the hubby hooked on a productive game instead of something with no benefits!

I have never heard of this app. Is it addictive or can you just put in some time here and there and easily step away from it? I am already fighting a Candy Crush addiction and didn’t need to add another one to the mix. :-)
Holly at ClubThrifty says
Ohhhh…..nice! My hotel is taken care of but I would love some free meals! I will check it out!!!

I love MyVegas. I have been playing since last year. When I went to Vegas in December I actually redeemed some tickets for a Monorail 2 for 1 voucher.

Nice little tip DC! I like it. I didn’t even know Frontier had relationships with that many airports. Glad to see them in my area. What a great way to get a free flight.
Raquel@Practical Cents says
Sounds like a good deal. I’ll have to check it out.

Still getting over my vanilla reload addiction now that cvs cut me off. I did sign up for the barclay two months back from your link after reading about it first here.

My wife has been bugging me for us to go to Las Vegas so she can see Shania Twain’s show, so this app sounds like a promising way to reduce the costs of such a trip.
Thanks for the tip, DC. I’m sorry there aren’t any Britney Spears tickets available – I guess you’ll have to pay out of pocket for those! Either that or just stick with your Spears cd collection for now!
DC @ Young Adult Money says
RetiredBy40 Seriously that’s the best thing about this! There’s so many ‘pointless’ Facebook games and games in general. With this you actually get some real benefit.
DC @ Young Adult Money says
blonde_finance I’m not gonna lie, I was pretty hooked initially. Now that it’s not new though I just stop in once a day to collect my daily bonus and sometimes play the slots when I have time. Haha I’ve never played Candy Crush but I’ve heard it’s very addicting.
DC @ Young Adult Money says
Holly at ClubThrifty Yeah the buffets are a big winner in my opinion. You can have one good meal a day for free using the bonuses. I plan on getting 3 free hotels and 3 free buffets next time I go by using mine and Victoria’s bonuses in the same trip.
DC @ Young Adult Money says
Jason @ The Butler Journal Nice, I wish I had started earlier…can’t imagine how many rewards I would have by now! The monorail seems like a good deal and I definitely would like to walk a little less the next time I’m in Vegas.
FrugalRules says
This is awesome DC! When we were in Vegas in January we saw ads for this ap in several places, but never checked it out. I’m all for traveling for free, so this will be something I definitely check out – now I just need to convince my wife to go back to Vegas. ;)
DC @ Young Adult Money says
DebtRoundUp Yeah Frontier goes quite a few places, though you might have to stop in Denver on your way. I have flown Frontier to Vegas in the past and I enjoyed the flight – can’t beat free cookies!
DC @ Young Adult Money says
Charles@gettingarichlife Oh I definitely appreciate you using my link! I churned my card, now it’s just a matter of deciding when and where to travel.
DC @ Young Adult Money says
PFUtopia Haha yes it’s too bad there’s no Britney tickets. At least the hotel rooms will be free, though!
DC @ Young Adult Money says
FrugalRules Your wife didn’t enjoy it? I think Vegas isn’t for everyone, but if you plan your vacation to tailor your likes/dislikes you can make a vacation that almost anyone will enjoy. The app definitely can help as you can cover a big chunk of food/hotel costs by simply logging in once a day and earning rewards.
Riky N says
Thanks for this! I’m heading there in early May and plan on using this. Is there a delay in how long it takes to redeem or can you do it almost instantaneously?
DC @ Young Adult Money says
Riky N No problem and I’m really jealous you are going to Vegas in May! I will ask my aunt and uncle in-law how fast the redemption process is and get back to you. Check back tomorrow or Saturday and I’ll have an answer for you.
Mrs Snarkfinance says
Great find! Thanks for sharing :)

As far as I know, any redemption can be used immediately and must be used within 90 days, or the redemption and the points used to purchase the redemption are lost. Jeff and I have used MyVegasSlots (MVS) for hotel rooms, buffets, Beatles LOVE show, Ice Bar, and the roller coaster at New York, New York. Our experience with MVS is as follows:
First, get your MLife Players Club number. You will need this number to obtain and redeem any rewards in MVS. http://www.mlife.com
Hotel Rooms: Confirm your room purchase through MVS. Make sure that the level of redemption is applicable to the days that you are staying. Different levels have more restrictive days. Then, call the hotel and make your reservation. You do not need to go to the MLife players club desk prior to checking in. Just check in as normal. It is helpful to have your redemption numbers with you when you check in.
Buffets: Confirm you purchase through MVS. Take your MLife number and redemption number to the MLife desk at the appropriate casino. For example, if you are getting the buffet at the Luxor, you need to redeem at the MLife desk at Luxor.
Our experience has been terrific! We have received very helpful and polite service when redeeming MVS redemptions, and we have not encountered any problems to date.
Good luck! If you have any questions with our experience, just post away!

Great game. I just played out all my chips for today and will keep on. We have a flight out of Las Vegas this summer and will be staying for a couple of days. I’ll see how much I can get for free!
Clarisse @ Make Money Your Way says
Oh, how I wish I can go to Las Vegas too! I already checked the apps myVEGAS Slots and in fact I also downloaded it on my mobile, surely I would love this one! I remember before how I got addicted to the online poker games, that even in the middle of the night I wake up just to play it. :)

Cool hack! About how many hours do you think someone to play the game for one free hotel night? It sounds great, but I’m concerned about spending too much of one commodity to save in another…
DC @ Young Adult Money says
DonebyForty I really am not sure, as I only started a few weeks ago (maybe a month now?). The points accumulate slow at first and quicker once you have leveled up and have access to more chips and games.
DC @ Young Adult Money says
Mrs Snarkfinance No problem, enjoy!
DC @ Young Adult Money says
Eyesonthedollar Oh nice, you might as well see what you can get by then! At least maybe a few free buffets?
DC @ Young Adult Money says
Clarisse @ Make Money Your Way Sounds like you were even more addicted than me! I never woke up in the middle of the night to play online poker, but I did stay up far too late playing.
DC @ Young Adult Money says
Riky N Still waiting on a reply, I didn’t forget about your question!
RobertaRenstromNyquist says
Strange. I posted regarding the use of the redemptions and I don’t see it. I’m getting reply notifications in my e-mail. Anyway, here goes again.
I believe that you can use the redemptions as soon as you purchase them, but they need to be used within 90 days from purchase or you lose both the redemption and the points used to purchase it. To make your life easier in this process I can give you some pointers.
First, you need to get an MLife players card. You won’t be able to reserve anything without it. Go to the MLife website to sign up.
Hotel Rooms: Purchase your redemption and call the hotel. You don’t need to go to the MLife players club desk prior to check-in. You can go immediately to the check-in desk. It is very helpful to the staff to have your redemption code and reservation number available.
If you have any other questions, I’ll be happy to answer them. We have used the redemptions on two trips to Vegas. We’ve had no problems. It has been a very user friendly program.
DC @ Young Adult Money says
RobertaRenstromNyquist Ah that’s too bad your original comment didn’t show up. Thanks for giving everyone some additional information, though, as most people who read this post will not have gone through the process yet. I was also curious about how quickly the turnaround time was on the redemption process and this really clarified things.
LisaVsTheLoans says
Oh my gosh, I wish I had known about this app before I went to Vegas two weeks ago! Definitely going to start up now for the next time I go!
DC @ Young Adult Money says
Riky N Forgot to say – look at Roberta’s comments above for some feedback on the redemption process.
DC @ Young Adult Money says
LisaVsTheLoans The earlier you can start the better, so just plan on using it on your next trip!
