Did you all have a good time celebrating Christmas? Between a wedding for my cousin-in-law and Christmas with my family this past week, I’ve definitely had a lot of family time.
Victoria and me on Christmas Eve.
My cousin-in-law Anna reading her vows to (now husband) Quintin.
Teaching my cousins how to play the piano. I don’t know how to play – I was going through the first few pages of a beginners book.
I exchanged gifts with my side of the family and got some fun and practical things like a Roku, gift cards to a coffee shop and Best Buy, some clothes, and a shop vac. My wife got a bread maker from my parents so I’m excited to taste test some of the breads she ends up making.
Blogging – Blogging has been going really well lately. I have a ton of plans for things I want to do with the site in 2014. I’m going to have to really decide what my priorities are for the site and pursue those, as time is always a constraint.
I had fun making the 2014 Editorial Calendar for Bloggers and it was well received, but creating spreadsheets and downloads like that take a decent amount of time. I do think I can make some really useful spreadsheets, but I have to decide if that’s a priority versus writing more content, researching affiliate programs, reviewing products/services, running giveaways, etc.
Exercise – Since I’ve had a bit of PTO in December finding time to work out has been really easy. I’ve been going at least three times a week and hope to keep it up in the new year. I’ve added a little bit of strength training to my routine as well.
Go Gophers! – I’ve followed the Gopher’s football team pretty closely this season and it’s been great to see them have more success than they have had in the past. They play in the Texas Bowl today against Syracuse and I’m hoping for a big win. While the bowl games are somewhat of a joke (seriously, 35 of them?!?) it would be nice to see them get in a bigger bowl game within the next few years.
Also fueling my interest in college football is the fact that the Vikings have been absolutely terrible…what a train wreck of a season.
Below are the posts we published this week:
- On Monday I shared a scary true story as well as some safety tips in How to Stay Safe When Buying and Selling on Craigslist.
- On Tuesday Sally shared a crazy tradition that involves jumping in a freezing lake in My New Year’s Tradition.
- On Wednesday I shared a pic of our 20-year old cat in Merry Christmas from Young Adult Money!.
- On Thursday I gave my Christmas Present to the blogosphere in Free 2014 Editorial Calendar Download for Bloggers.
Posts of the Week:
I do not have any posts to share because I spent very little time on the blogosphere. Next week I should have some, though!

If you celebrate, how was your Christmas? Did you do anything fun?

That sounds like a good holiday, David, and I’m glad SOMEONE is keeping up with workouts during the holidays. You’re holding the torch for all of us, friend. :)
DC @ Young Adult Money says
DonebyForty Haha it’s not too hard when you don’t have work! If you want to see a guy who is REALLY keeping up his workouts check out Travis from Enemy of Debt. Even if you worked out every day you still wouldn’t be doing as much as him.

DC @ Young Adult MoneyDonebyFortyI second this. Travis is a beast! :)

Hope you guys had a wonderful Christmas. Ours was pretty miserable because of the ice storm that hit Maine, but I’m still thankful we were able to spend the holiday with family.
DC @ Young Adult Money says
StudentDebtSurvivor Ah I’m so sorry that the ice storm hit your area. I’m thankful your family had a generator, though! I can’t imagine not having heat and electricity here in Minnesota during the Winter…

Nice pics. Looks like you guys had a fun time with family. I always wanted to learn how to play the piano.
DC @ Young Adult Money says
Raquel@Practical Cents We definitely had a good time. I don’t know how to play either, but I’m really not that motivated to learn haha.
