The theme of this giveaway is: The Most Exciting Vacation You Have Ever Taken
Growing up I never went on a vacation outside of the United States. We did go up north every Summer to a lake cabin, and when I was younger went to Disney World twice. Besides that, we have taken a couple other trips that definitely were fun.
In the past few years I have been able to go to some pretty amazing places. I went to Hawaii for my sister-in-law’s destination wedding, Jamaica for my honeymoon, and a cruise that went to Mexico, Belize, Honduras, and Grand Cayman. So which was the most exciting?
Cruising to four countries in four days
I would say the cruise I took in February was my most exciting vacation. Being able to go to four different countries with four different cultures was an incredible experience. Prior to going on the cruise I had only been to Mexico, Jamaica, and the United States. Of the four different countries we went to (yes, I realize Grand Cayman is technically a territory) I liked Belize the most. My wife had gone to Belize for a week when she was younger and has talked about it often. Being able to finally visit Belize was a great experience, and I can see why she loved it so much. I would love to vacation there again in the future.
The only complaint I had about the cruise is that you only get a limited amount of time at each place. While it would have been great to spend 2-3 days at each location, we would have went to only one, maybe two, locations if this was the case. Each location was different than the last, and even at night when we were cruising there was a ton to do on the ship.

Four countries in four days is something the wifey would love however I would rather just spend a few days in one place and come back. The wifey has been trying to get me on a cruise for the longest. If I do one its going to be the Alaskan cruise. I think its a seven day cruise and from what I hear its a wonderful experience.
My dad went to Belize too one time and absolutely loved it. He even talked about moving down there. Sounds like a great cruise, DC.
I still haven’t ever been on a cruise. I don’t really like boats and I am scared of tsunamis!!! Maybe one day!
I feel the same way about cruises – we love them, but we wish we had more time at each place. We’ve found a few places we want to go back and visit though. :)
I’ve never done a cruise, but it’s definitely on my bucket list. When we were in Costa Rica for our honeymoon we met some people who had just come from Belize and loved it. Sounds like a great place.
I haven’t had many but I enjoyed visiting Moscow one time – I prefer doing something on the vacation, sightseeing not just lying on the beach :)
Definitely agree on the cruises – not quite enough time at each place. But what a great way to see several places! We’re dreaming of an Alaska cruise for our next big trip. Since we live so close to where the ships leave from, we’d save airfare and it’d be a really affordable trip. My most exciting trip? t wasn’t necessarily a vacation, but our interim study abroad trip to Turkey & Greece in 2010 was unbelievable. So many historic sights and experiences with different cultures.
I was in Florida once with a boyfriend taking a long weekend at the end of summer and it happened to be when all of the baby sea turtles were hatching and making their way to the ocean. It was amazing! :)
That cruise sounds awesome. Cara and I are figuring out what we want to do for our next vacation. We’re not sure if we want to do a cruise, all inclusive resort, or just a regular one somewhere.
My favorite vacation ever was my fiance’s and my trip to Hawaii last year. We went to Kauai and Maui, and were able to snorkel, hike, kayak, zip line and go to a luau. We also got engaged :). Good memories! We also saved for months beforehand and didn’t come home with any credit card debt, always a plus!
The most exciting vacation was to Orlando, FL where we stayed at an amzing hotel. I had no idea that Orlando could be so romantic!
The most exciting vacation I have ever taken was to Swiss years ago with my grandparents.
I am still planning to go to a cruise and also I plan to go to Jamaica sometime.

That cruise sounds awesome! I’ve been getting the itch to go on another cruise. I wouldn’t mind doing a European cruise.
In 2010, an old friend and I celebrated the new year by flying to Cambodia, eating tarantulas, firing rocket launchers, and smoking hand-rolled Burmese cigars.
The first time I went to NYC was magical!
most exciting — when my best friend and I went to Cancun, Mexico
Cruise to Alaska, it was crazy
I’ve often heard people say that cruises are a great way to see what places you want to come back and visit longer in the future. I think that’s a great way to get a glimpse of so many places. I’d love to do a cruise in Alaska. Thanks for putting the giveaway together.

Your cruise sounds super fun! I don’t know if we could ever do one, though: I’m a claustrophobe and he doesn’t like open waters. My most exciting vacation was definitely to Germany. As if going to Europe and seeing old friends isn’t exciting enough, there was a terrorist issue at CDG during our layover. French military everywhere.

Most exciting? I’m not sure! My vacations are normally one-day affairs to amusement parks, so probably one of those! :)
The most exciting vacation I ever took was a week-long trip to Ireland with my dad and my sister. Dad had gone through heart failure several years previously, so he had to eat right, take his meds, and exercise for quite a few years to be healthy enough to take the trip. It was incredible!
Love cruising! Took a 12 day Eastern Mediterranean cruise last spring, and loved it so much I’m going back in February to cover the Western half… with my mom, aunt, and two sisters in tow!
