Full Disclosure: I was compensated by Cub Foods for this post
I talked last week about the savings and deals that Cub Foods offers. It’s always a good feeling to save over 40% off your purchase through using coupons. While savings can vary from week-to-week and from trip-to-trip, one thing you can count on is saving money when you shop at Cub.
Today I want to talk about some of the things I love about Cub Foods other than savings and deals. In particular I’d like to share some of the things you might not immediately associate with Cub Foods, but are very much a part of Cub Foods.
1) redbox

Redbox, along with other discount DVD rental companies, is one of the reasons stores like BlockBuster and Video Update won’t see the light of day anymore. Who wants to rent DVDs for a $4 when they can rent them for $1 a day?
If you like redbox and you like Cub, you’re in luck! Some Cub locations have redbox DVD rental machines. I know mine does and I’ve used it on numerous occasions to rent DVDs.
2) TCF Bank
TCF Bank has been my home bank since I was probably three years old. I grew up going to TCF and continue to use it as my bank today. This year I actually opened up my first business banking account at TCF and it’s been convenient having my checking, savings, and business account all in one place.
But you’re probably wondering what TCF has to do with Cub? Well, many Cub locations have TCF branches inside their stores. This is pretty convenient because you can stop at the bank before you do your grocery shopping.
3) 24/7 Service
This may have been a bigger positive when I was in high school when I’d stay up until the wee hours of the morning, but it is reassuring to know that Cub Foods will be open all night in case you need to run and grab something. This also means 24/7 access to the redbox DVD rental machines!
I’m not a Dad, but I do plan on having kids one one day and I’ve heard stories of having to run to the store late at night to grab diapers or some other supplies. I’m sure a 24/7 store like Cub would come in handy in those situations!
4) Bakery
While “grocery store” and “delicious fresh doughnuts” might not always be associated with one another, Cub Foods has some of the best doughnuts around. I have friends who would stop there pretty much every morning before they worked the sealcoat crew as a Summer job to take advantage of the 75 cent doughnuts. Besides that I just enjoy Cubs baked goods in general.
If you shop at Cub Foods, what do you like about it most besides the coupons and deals?
