I’m a busy guy. Between working my 9-5 job in corporate finance, managing this website, working on projects around the house, making time for friends and family, and hitting the gym regularly to stay in shape, I don’t have a lot of time left over to plan meals, let alone cook. I try to save money by bringing my own lunch to work each day, and one easy lunch option is Velveeta Skillet Singles. They take only one minute to heat up, which is great for those days where I have trouble finding time to fit in a lunch break.
This quick lunch option is available at Walmart in the microwaveable meals section. There are four different options:
- Chicken Alfredo
- Chicken Chili Cheese Mac
- Lasagna with Meat Sauce
- Ultimate Cheeseburger Mac
Since I love chicken and Alfredo, I decided to give the Chicken Alfredo option a try.
The best thing about the Velveeta “heat-and-eat” skillet singles is just how easy and quick they are. All you have to do is pull back part of the top packaging, microwave for 1 minute, then pour the cheese packet into the bowl.
The portion size is ideal for a lunch or dinner. Whenever I can find a lunch or dinner option that is quick, affordable, good portion size, and tastes good, I’m happy.
Finally I’ll leave you with an up-close pic of the “Liquid Gold.”
I almost forgot to mention that if your workplace doesn’t have a freezer, you don’t have to worry. This is a microwaveable meal that you don’t have to freeze! As long as you have access to a microwave you are good to go.
A quick Bonus Tip: If you coupon or just want to save money, there was a coupon available starting 7/18 for $1 off Velveeta Skillet Singles.
If you want to see more, check out my Google+ shopping trip album as well as @EatLiquidGold on Twitter and Velveeta on Facebook. #PersonalFeast
Now, if you don’t mind I have a lot of work to get done so I’m going to grab my Velveeta and head out the door!

Bf loves velveeta it was the first cheese he’d eat growing up. Apparently there isn’t a lot of cheese in the Philippines and velveeta is very popular there.
